SAPTARI, Nov 22: Two protesters have been killed and twenty others were injured in police firing in two different palaces, Bhardaha and Rupni of the district on Saturday mid night.
The deceased have been identified as Birendra Ram of Gada-9 and Nageshwor Yadav of Jamuni Madhyapurma-9.
According to District Police Office's inspector Laldhoj Subedi, the incident occurred after protesters gathered to halt escorting commuter bus.
"We open fire after protesters attack on us" Subedi further added.
Injured twenty protesters are undergoing treatment at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences located at Dharan.
An indefinite curfew has been imposed in Bhardaha, Rupni and Rajbiraj since 6 am.
